Clyattville Community Park

Clyattville Community Park is a seven-acre park with a huge green space for baseball, softball, soccer, football, Frisbee or general open recreation. The field has a backstop and dugouts, which make it ideal for practice or pick-up baseball games. Just down from the field is an outdoor basketball court flanked by beautiful oak trees with charming Spanish Moss. The park includes a lit, paved, and shaded walking track that circles a playground. The play structure features swings, climbers, slides, and a bridge. There is also a large pavilion outfitted with electricity, restrooms, and picnic tables. It can accommodate 50-60 people and is available for rent.

Craig Center

The Craig Center is a multi-purpose facility located in the heart of Valdosta. It houses our Therapeutics program and is the main center for all of our Special Needs activities, including the Special Olympics and our popular Young Adult Club. The Craig Center consists of a medium-sized great room, a full-size kitchen with a refrigerator, a storage room, bathrooms, and a fenced-in playground area with a large picnic shelter. The center and outdoor areas are available for rent.

Drexel Park

Drexel Park is one of VLPRA’s most used parks and is known for hosting the annual Azalea Festival. The park is about 11 acres and offers ample shaded green space. It is conveniently located by VSU and features a creek with a picturesque bridge and a large variety of indigenous plant life with tree species labeled throughout the park. It is bordered by Azalea City Multipurpose Trail. Children love to play on the large play structure with bridges, monkey bars, and slides as well as the swing sets. The park is outfitted with electricity and is available for rent.

Forrest Street Administration

The Forrest Street Center is home to VLPRA’s Administrative, Youth Athletics, and Adult Athletics Offices. The center also has an incredible variety of spaces and rental facilities. The main building houses a beautiful sanctuary with a center aisle, an oak stage, and a sound system that is perfect for weddings. Receptions can be held in the same building in our spacious multipurpose room that offers a divider as well as tables and chairs. A full size kitchen and bathrooms are right down the hall. Just across the parking lot, you will find the Forrest Street Gym: a heated and air-conditioned full size gym that is a great place for basketball, volleyball, dance classes, and general recreation. Both full-court and half-court basketball opportunities are available. There’s also a full size kitchen and spacious restrooms. Greer Park

Greer Park is an active park that is perfect for sports and general play! Greer Park has an open field with a baseball backstop, an outdoor basketball court, and a brand new playground with swing sets. There’s also a picnic shelter with electricity and restrooms available for rent.

Hyta's Park

Hyta's Park is a small landscaped green space featuring a sculpture by local artist Wilby Coleman. The park is enhanced by a gazebo, benches, and lovely landscaping.

J.L. Lomax Park

J.L. Lomax Park is newly renovated with a colorful playground, an outdoor basketball court, a grill, and a picnic shelter with tables. The park is fenced in and canopied by beautiful, historic oaks that provide ample shade on warm, sunny days. The shelter and basketball court are available for rental through VLPRA.

Jaycee Shack

The Jaycee Shack is a rentable facility that features a large multipurpose room with a full size kitchen and plenty of tables and chairs. Guests will love the picturesque pond out back and the covered picnic shelter that includes a large grill, power, water, and lights for evening rentals.

John W. Saunders Memorial Park

Saunders Memorial Park is an ideal space for large gatherings as it houses 6 covered picnic shelters that are available for rent. The largest one holds up to 150 people with more than a dozen picnic tables and has its own designated restrooms. The other shelters hold two picnic tables each. Every shelter features electricity and a designated grill. A paved walking and nature trail leads from the largest shelter through a beautifully shaded wooded area. The park also boasts two regulation-sized outdoor basketball courts, a splash pad, a playground, and an amphitheater complete with electricity and stage lights that can seat hundreds of people. The shelters, amphitheater, and basketball courts are all available for rent.

Langdale Park

Langdale Park is 178 acres of rustic beauty on the lazy Withlacoochee River. Miles of mountain bike trails zig zag through the South Georgia woods and wind around the lazy, picturesque river. Langdale Park offers fantastic nature viewing opportunities. You can spot deer, raccoons, opossums, and a variety of birds including birds of prey such as hawks, eagles, and owls. An array of indigenous plan life includes large oaks, poplars, river birch, pines, and sweet smelling wild honeysuckle and Carolina jasmine. The park features a boat ramp with river access as well as picnic tables and a picnic shelter that is available for rent.

Library Park

Lake Park Library Park is about 1.5 acres of play space, green space, and picnic area located next to the Lake Park Library. The picnic shelter can accommodate dozens of people and is available for rent. This is a lovely space for a picnic or gathering for families, as the playground is brand-new and an inviting area for up to 30 kids! The area is shaded by a variety of oaks.

McKey Park (H.B.A. Tennis Center)

McKey Park is in the middle of Valdosta on Patterson Street and is home to the hugely popular Harry B. Anderson Tennis Center. The tennis center features 12 tennis courts that are used for lessons, clinics, and general tennis recreation. It also has a tennis shelter, bleachers, bathrooms and water fountains as well as a pro shop which houses the tennis pro’s office. Please click "Tennis" at the bottom of the page to find out more about that program. In addition to tennis, McKey Park features a sand volleyball court and two large playgrounds. A creek runs between the playground areas, with the two sides connected by a wooden bridge. Children of all ages will enjoy the park and playgrounds, which feature structures for older kids and swings for both toddlers and school-age children. The playgrounds are shaded by a canopy of oaks and have a dedicated restroom. McKey Park also features two large picnic pavilions that can each accommodate 60 people. Both pavilions hold picnic tables and grills. The benefits of this park continue with green space: a grassy field is available to accommodate youth sports practices. Plus, the park is adjacent to a lit, paved walking track. The tennis courts, volleyball court, and picnic pavilions are all available for rent.

Mildred Hunter Center

The Mildred Hunter Community Center has everything you could want in a recreation center! The MHCC has a gym with a full-size basketball court and pull out bleachers perfect for hosting games and tournaments. There’s also a full size kitchen, breakout rooms, a kid’s playroom, and a brand new exercise room with plenty of cardio equipment and weights. Step outside to find our pristine outdoor pool with new patio furniture. The pool is situated right next to Harrington Park and provides a fantastic area to play in the sweltering South Georgia summers. The MHCC is home to VLPRA’s basketball and youth football programs, as well as the RC Car Club, the Marching Pride Drill Team, and several teen mentoring groups.

Naylor Community Park

Naylor Park is located at the east side of Lowndes County and is easily accessible from Highway 84. This fenced-in park is home to the Naylor Community Center Building and houses a slide, merry-go-round, see saw and a large play structure. Grills, and picnic tables and a unisex restroom are also available. A large screened in picnic shelter with electricity holds up to 75 people and is a perfect area to host a child’s birthday party. North Lowndes Park

North Lowndes Park boasts a wide variety of recreation opportunities with a multipurpose field, playground, shelter and a skate park! The large concrete skate park is a lit bowl structure with grind rails and ramps. A large restroom building sits near the skate park and is also close to the brand new, brightly colored playground that features plenty of slides and swings! The multipurpose field is large enough to play both baseball and football and features a backstop and dugouts. A boardwalk winds around the field, making a natural loop where walkers can spot deer, raccoons, and other wildlife. There’s also a small pond, large amounts of open green space for general recreation, and picnic tables. The fields and skate park can be reserved for practices, games, birthday parties, or other special events.

Olympic Park

Olympic Park offers a shady ¾ of an acre as a spot to relax with its gazebo, water fountain and a playground that can accommodate up to 30 children. The brightly colored play structure is inviting to little ones and includes slides, a tire swing and much more! A picnic shelter complete with electricity is available for rent.

Oris Blackburn Memorial Park

Oris Blackburn Memorial Park spans more than 100 acres on Madison Highway south of Clyattville. Bass and bream fill a large fishing pond surrounded by huge amounts of wooded serenity. There is a boat ramp for johnboat access to the five-acre pond and ample open space for general recreation. Three large picnic shelters that hold up to 60 people each come equipped with grills and restroom access. Each of them are available for rent for your next special occasion!

Payton Park

Payton Park spans nearly 9 acres of land and includes a large fishing pond full of catfish, bream and bass as well as an open space for Frisbee and playing football. Payton Park boasts a lighted, paved walking track as well as restrooms and several picnic tables and benches throughout. The park is conveniently located next to the Southside Library. The picnic shelter located within the park is an ideal space for family gatherings and is available for rent.

Riley-Ledford Park

Riley-Ledford Park sits atop five acres and is just a stone’s throw from neighboring Naylor Community Park. With two large picnic shelters (each hold 60-75 people) available for rent, restrooms, grills, and a lighted and paved walking track, this park would make the perfect spot for any gathering. The park also contains a baseball backstop and open field ideal for pick up games or scheduled practices. Contact VLPRA to reserve the picnic shelter or field today!

Scott Park

Scott Park is 28 acres of fun! A lit, paved walking track (3.8 laps make a mile) with painted lanes is perfect for runners or walkers, while a regulation-size football field with bleachers and lights is a fantastic spot to host practices or games. Restrooms are available and so are water fountains at this amenity-packed facility. The fenced-in park also features four lit, regulation outdoor basketball courts, three lit regulation tennis courts, and a large lit and covered stage with electricity. There’s also a large open field with a baseball backstop for softball, baseball, or general recreation. To top it off, Scott Park has two picnic shelters with electricity and water hook ups available for rent.

Senior Center

The Senior Center is a hugely popular facility that houses all our Seniors programs. The center includes a large multipurpose room with a full kitchen, an exercise room with both cardio and weight training equipment, an indoor heated pool, a library, walking track, shuffleboard court, and comfortable seating in the foyer. There are also several breakout rooms with billiards, cards, and arts and crafts.

Snake Nation Park

Snake Nation Park is a neighborhood park at the north end of Lowndes County. The park is fenced in with a play structure that invites kids to climb and slide. This is a great park for picnicking, as it contains both the play area and a large picnic shelter that can accommodate 25-30 people. The shelter is outfitted with electricity and is available for rent.

South Lowndes Recreation Complex

South Lowndes is a community center and park in one! Outdoor amenities include two adult and two youth baseball/softball fields, a concession stand with a covered eating area, restrooms, water fountain, a full-size playground, and three soccer fields with a dedicated concession stand and restrooms. There’s plenty of parking for tournaments and events, as well as two huge picnic shelters for a full day of fun. That’s not all: the community center on the other side of the parking lot features a gymnasium with a full basketball court and two half-courts as well as several multipurpose rooms, a commercial kitchen, and plenty of tables and chairs for your next event. Rent picnic shelter, the fields, a multipurpose room, or even the whole center for your next event!

Taylor-Cowart Park

Taylor Cowart’s 2.44 acres rests under large shady oak and poplar trees. The park boasts a playground structure with separate swing set, gazebo and merry go round. There are several picnic tables within the park as well as a small picnic shelter that is available for rent.

Tom's Corner Park

Tom’s Corner Park is a fenced in park featuring two playgrounds. The park is a great place to play in the summer, as it is heavily shaded. It is also ideal for picnics, with a picnic shelter that can accommodate 20 people and features electricity. The shelter is available for rent.

Wood Valley

The Wood Valley Community Center is a perfect spot for small events and birthday parties. The Center boasts a medium-sized multi-purpose room with a stage. There’s also a full size kitchen, storage, and tables and chairs. Outside, you will find a brand new playground next to a covered picnic shelter with restrooms, a grill, electricity, and water. There’s also a paved walking track perfect for parents to stroll while kids play!
