The Valdosta-Lowndes Senior Center is a recreation center which offers an array of services to help meet the social, recreational and educational needs of seniors over 50 years of age. We offer services to enhance the quality of life for senior citizens through education, recreation and physical fitness programs that encourage seniors in our community to remain active and healthy. Must be a member of the Senior Center to participate in activities.

 

Senior Center Mission Statement

To provide quality programming for the 50 and older population to help meet their social, recreational and educational needs by providing instructional classes, workshops, seminars, and special events to enhance their quality of life.

 

 

 

Membership*: $20 for city/county residents

                         $30 for out of county residents

*Annual memberships begin July 1st, and expire June 30th of the following year.

*Membership fees are not prorated throughout the year, though anyone 50 years+ may join at anytime throughout the year. Click below for membership form:

THE HAPPY TRAVELERS

 

 MAY 5 – 11, 2013 – TULIP TIME AND NIAGARA FALLS 

Highlights: Holland, Michigan, 2013 Tulip Festival, musical show in Holland, Veldheer Tulip Fields, Dutch village, tour of Niagara Falls, Skylon Tower, Nashville, TN with the Grand Ole Opry. 10 meals provided. 

79 Happy Travelers have already signed up for this motor coach trip that you will not want to miss. Two buses will go. (Buses will be staggered.) This trip is still open as we can take up to 100 with two buses. Please sign up today. 

 

Insurance on this trip is $95.00. I will go over coverage at meeting. Insurance, if desired, should be purchased prior to the Happy Travelers forwarding of your deposit to Excursions Unlimited.

Passports will be required as we will be staying on the Canadian side of the Falls.

RATES: Double $1099, Single $1399. Insurance: Cancellation/Health $95.  Deposit $200. Final payment is due March 15, 2013. This trip is presented by Excursions Unlimited. 

OCTOBER 1 – 10, 2013  -  SHADES OF IRELAND 

This 10 day trip to Ireland will include 8 breakfasts, 5 dinners, and everything Irish. Stops include Dublin, Kilkenny, Waterford Crystal Factory and Museum, Blarney Castle, Kerry, Killarney, Limerick, Cliffs of Moher, Galway and overnight in an authentic castle.

Book now, Prior to April 1, 2013. Double $2899, Single $3299, Triple $2869. If you have been on a Collette Tour since July 1, 2012, you will receive an additional $150 off for each Collette Tour. The Canyon Country trip and Christmas on the Danube are qualifying trips.

Cancellation waiver (insurance) is $220 and MUST be paid at the time of your $250 deposit if you wish to have insurance. This will be a great trip! bullet Chairobics - Mondays & Wednesdays 10 am in Multi-Purpose room featuring low impact aerobics, strength training and balance exercises.
bullet Spades - Monday and Wednesday at 8:45 am - 12:30 pm in Activity Room #2
bullet Game Days - Mondays & Fridays from 12-5 pm, featuring Phase 10, Uno, Pinochle, Chickenfoot, etc. Times vary depending on game check calendar for times. Activity Rooms #1 & #2

bullet Bowling - Wednesday from 11 am - 5:30 pm at Jac's Lanes on Connell Road. Receive a Senior Discount of $1.75 per game and get your shoes for free.
bullet Dance Fitness - 45 minute low to medium impact aerobics offered on Fridays. Check calendar for dates.
