MHCC MARCHING PRIDE DRILL TEAM: Age Requirement: 7-15 Meeting Days & Times: The MHCC Marching Pride Drill Team will meet Thursdays from 4:30-5:30pm. The purpose of the Drill Team is to build self-esteem, discipline, and motivation in our youth. There is no fee for this program.
HOMEWORK ASSISTANCE & RECREATIONAL PROGRAM: Age Requirement: 5-17 Meeting Days & Times: This program follows the Valdosta City Schools Calendar and is open to pre-kindergarten, elementary, middle and high school students. Participants will be given daily homework assistance. They will also engage in recreational activities once their homework is complete. There is no fee for this program.
TEEN SCENE: Age Requirement: 12-17 Meeting Days & Times: The Teen Scene will meet Tuesdays from 5:00-6:00pm and every Thursday from 5:00-6:00pm. All interested teen are welcome to join us. The Teen Scene provides youth with a wide range of positive social, recreational, enrichment, and educational activities for teens such as field trips, discuss teen issue, and guest speakers. There is no fee for this program.
INTERVENTION GUIDANCE MENTORING PROGRAM: Age Requirement: 11-18 This mentoring program is to help youth with dealing with life, goals conflict, and character to become a model citizen. Program starts and meets once a month.
REMOTE CONTROL CAR CLUB: The Remote Control Car Club is a mentoring program that builds character and self esteem, welcoming all youth to learn about remote control car racing. Program meets every Wednesday from 4:30-5:30pm.
PHAZES MODELING TROUPE You want to be a model? Hosted by the Phazes Modeling Troupe. Starts and meets every Thursday from 6:45-8:45pm, also every Saturday from 11:30a-12:30p. All teens, middle and high school students are welcomed to come, this program is free, so come prepared to strut your stuff!!
TEENS IN MOTION This is a developing program for young people to come and participate in parties, open recreation, learn from guest speakers, and other fun and exciting activities. Program starts and meets September 1, from 5:30-6:30pm.
THE LEARNING FOR SUCCESS PROGRAM This program is an academic program that is designed to help middle school students prepare for the CRCT, by taking practice exams. This program meets every Monday from 5:00-6:00pm.
LITERACY PROGRAM In partnership with Valdosta High School and Valdosta City Schools, the Literacy Program is designed to help children ages 5-9 with basic reading fundamentals. Program meets every Tuesday from 6:30-7:30pm.
YOUTH OPEN RECREATION: Open Recreation is offered to adults every Saturday 12:00-2:00pm. Adults can come to the building to shoot basketball monitored by staff in a structured environment.
